अर्गल (argala) means a wooden bolt or pin for fastening a door or the cover of a vessel like the lid of a box. The purpose of argala is to act as a safety measure to check access or conceal and protect. It is also acts as an impediment to access just like ocean waves at the shore are an impediment to the automatic access to the deeper ocean waters as they push back to the shore.
